one night only
One Night Only is a deeply personal EP that explores the grief, love, and transformation I experienced after losing my best friend, Sativa, to a tragic act of violence. Each track reflects a stage in the emotional journey of losing her—and learning how to keep living without her.
One Night Only – The title track, and the heart of the project. It was born from a single aching thought: If I had just one more night with her… One night to tell her how much I loved her. One night to say goodbye.
Dissociation – Centered around a haunting vocal that asks, “Do you know why I am here? It’s not reality.” This track represents my retreat from the world, and the surreal, disconnected state I lived in when I couldn't accept a life that no longer included her.
Sabotage – A reflection of the way grief twisted inward. I stopped taking care of myself. I avoided music. I kept asking why I was spiraling—until the words “because I miss you” surfaced. That became the melody. A moment of vulnerability that became a turning point.
Not Enough Glitter – This track captures the joy and light Sativa brought into my life. We shared a love for raving and glitter—especially when I felt unsure of myself. She’d always tease me and say, “There’s not enough glitter on you.” It was her way of reminding me to shine. Now, the phrase feels like a reflection of a world dimmer without her.
This EP is for her. It’s for anyone navigating grief. And it’s for the moments we wish we could have back—but find a way to honor through music.
